China International Disposable Paper Expo 2014 (CIDPEX 2014), organized by China National Household Paper Industry Association (CNHPIA), was successfully held on May 14-16, 2014 in Chengdu, Sichuan, China. It featured more than 700 exhibitors—a record high number—and over 30,000 professional visitors. The event spanned an 80,000 square meter exhibition area and also included a high level conference with 41 speeches and more than 400 delegates. All of these factors contributed to make CIDPEX one of the most prestigious events covering the tissue paper and disposable hygiene products industry in the world. As a good platform to explore the China market, CIDPEX also attracted much more overseas exhibitors and visitors to Chengdu this year, according to the show organizer. In order to help the exhibitors and visitors find their targets more easily, the exhibitors were further divided into 4 category pavilions on based on their business scope. In the tissue paper pavilion, the leading manufacturers, such as Gold Hongye, Vinda, Dongshun, Orient Champion, YFY, Huamei, all showed up for the event. The local tissue paper manufactures in Sichuan province brought their special tissue products made from bamboo pulp to promote at CIDPEX 2014. Bamboo is widely planted in Sichuan province. The various products and packaging designs in the disposable hygiene products pavilion attracted the attention of many visitors. The well known brands, such as ABC, Daddybaby, Mignon Baby, Yinyin and COCO, offered high-quality products to the customers attending the exhibition. The raw material providers brought their new solutions to help differentiate finished products with excellent performance. In the machinery pavilion, more than 100 machines were demonstrated onsite. The visitors could have a direct impression of the new technology and see improvements to machines first hand. Compare to previous years, CNHPIA says this year’s show attracted a higher quality and quantity of visitors, while exhibitors found new partners and established new business relationships during the event. The organizer also highlighted effective noise control measures and information desks for every pavilion to provide better service to attendees. Visitors were also given exhibitor contact information for free. CNHPIA also boasted a more “green” exhibition environment. In order to save on construction material and help protect the environment, CNHPIA promoted the “green” concept during the exhibition and asked exhibitors to reduce material waste during stand construction. Another highlight of CIDPEX 2014 was the one-and-half-day conference held on May 14-15. The conference included 41 high-level speeches divided into two themes: tissue paper and disposable hygiene products industry in China. In order to ensure the professional level of the conference, CNHPIA carefully designed the conference program and reviewed the speeches content beforehand. Experts from the finished products manufacturers, machinery and raw material providers, consulting companies and NGOs, such as P&G, BASF, Mondi, Shanghai Fengge, Poyry, INDA and EDANA, gave in-depth speeches on the market development, latest technology and innovation. Deputy secretary general of CNHPIA, Ms. Zhang Yulan, presented the reports, “Chinese Tissue Industry Changes and Prospects,” and, “Chinese Disposable Hygiene Products Changes and Prospects” at the conference. At the conference, new views and technologies were talked about and presented a good opportunity to get in touch with professionals across the world and get updated on the latest developments. CIDPEX 2015 will be back in Shenzhen from May 25-27, 2015.
